If you ever wondered what Eid al-Adha was all about, you are one of the many who will be surprised to find out that the Holy Bible in Genesis chapter 22 has the whole story and that Romans 8 (especially verse 32) explains the meaning. The sacrifice that took place at the mountain was an illustration for humanity of how God’s wrath (fire and knife) that was reserved for all humanity was poured out on the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, who takes away the sin of the world. Yes, the wrath of God against sin was poured out on Jesus so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
