Digest God’s Word – how to

So, we have been given the Word of God. So how does it go from just being there, outside of us, to something inside us. Something we digest and assimilate in order to bear fruits.

The Bible tells us of quite a few ways to intake the Word of God. Let’s just talk about five of them:

1. Hear

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17

2. Read

God, giving instructions for the first king ever appointed over Israel, provides some guidance that will guaranty that His people are safe under the reign of this king. He tells them Israel  that the king “shall read [the book of the law] all the days of his life.” Deuteronomy 17:19

3. Study

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God…” 2 Timothy 2:15

4. Memorize

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11

5. Meditate

“Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.” Joshua 1:8

From Volcano Nyiragongo, you get a view of one of the Virunga Mountains telling of God's grandeur.

A view of one of the Virunga Mountains in the Democratic Republic of Congo gives you an idea about how little we are. It also gives a glimpse of God’s might since He created the earth with a word form His mouth.
